Brent Ullery

                                                                             Head Coach

Centerville High School Athletics is proud to introduce new Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Brent Ullery.  An alumnus of Centerville High School, Ullery is a four-year varsity letter winner for the Elks from 1999-2002. He was a 5-year walk-on and 1-year letter winning wide receiver for The Ohio State University football team that included three Big Ten championships, three bowl game wins and two national                  championship appearances. He taught math and coached football at Dublin Coffman in Columbus for five years before joining the teaching and coaching staff at Centerville in 2014.  He served as wide receiver coach from 2014 to 2016 before accepting the head coaching position in April, 2017.  Ullery, his wife Sahar, their son Beckett, and daughter Scarlett reside in Centerville.

Coach Puckett is entering his 23rd year of coaching and has coached in 4 different states.

2006-2008 - Hamilton High School - DB / CoDC

2009 - Richmond High School/ Richmond, IN - DB

2010-2014 - Centerville High School - DB / DC

2015 - Goose Creek High School/ Goose Creek, SC - LB

2016-2017 - Centerville High School - DC

2018-2020 - Butler High School - Head Coach

2021-Present - Centerville High School - DC / DB

 

John played football, basketball, and baseball at Chaminade-Julienne.

and is a member of the CJ Athletic Hall of Fame, class of 2006. He then played for Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, MI where he was 3 year starter and 4 year letter winner. He is the current president of the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association and is also on the Board of Directors for the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association, Region 15.

 

John works as an Intervention Specialist at Centerville High School. Coach Puckett is married to Ann Puckett and has 4 children; Jonathan and Joseph, 24, Jackson, 15 and is on the football team, Jake, 11 is at Magsig.

Joe Kitchell

Linebackers

Joe Kitchell is a 2007 graduate of La Salle High School and  graduated from Xavier University in 2011 with a degree in History and Secondary Education. Joe was a JV assistant and Freshman Head Coach at La Salle High School from 2007-2012. This is his eighth season coaching at Centerville where he also teaches Social Studies.  Joe lives in Cincinnati with his wife Jodie, and their two daughters, Kennedy and Reagan.

Kyle Moyer

Defensive Backs

Kyle Moyer is a 2019 graduate of Centerville High School where he was a two-year varsity letter winner on the football team. Kyle currently studies Sport Management at Bowling Green State University while also minoring in Leadership. This is Kyle’s first season as the cornerback coach at his alma mater after a one-year stint at Vandalia-Butler with current Elks’ defensive coordinator John Puckett.

Dan Kerns

Wide Receivers

Dan Kerns is a 2008 graduate of National Trail High School. He went on to play football, as a wide receiver, and baseball, as a pitcher, at Earlham College in Richmond, IN. He was named a team captain for football as a senior. He graduated from Earlham College in 2012 with a degree in History and minor in Psychology. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Teaching in 2013 from Earlham College and an Exceptional Learners certificate in Mild to Moderate Intervention from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2016. Dan teaches American Government at the Warren County Career Center in Lebanon, OH and is in year 7 of teaching overall. Dan has coached wide receivers and defensive backs at Muncie Central (IN), Bethel, Carlisle and Tippecanoe. He joined the Centerville staff in 2018. Dan lives in Centerville with his wife Brianne, who also teaches Science at CHS.

Adam Taylor

Offensive Line / Special Teams

Adam is a 1997 graduate of Centerville High School where he was a two sport athlete (baseball and football) from the fall of 93 to the spring of 97 and was also a recipient of the Sonny Unger Award.  After high school Adam went on to play baseball at the University of Toledo for 4 years where he received his undergraduate degree. Adam went on to earn his Masters from the University of Dayton and has been employed at CHS since 2008 where he teaches American history and American government. He has coached within the program at various levels since 2004.  Currently, Adam coaches both offensive line and special teams. He, his wife, and their four children also reside in Centerville.

Jermaine Bailey

Running Backs

Jermaine Bailey is a 1998 graduate of Archbishop Moeller High School. He attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While at UD, he was a two year letterman on the football team while earning both All-League as well as All-American honors. He is also a member of the 2011 Hall of Fame class at UD. Coach Bailey went on to earn a Masters in Elementary Education in 2015 from Grand Canyon University.

Jermaine spent one year (2003) teaching and coaching at Chaminade Julienne High School and currently teaches Physical Education in the Centerville school district at Cline Elementary and Primary Village South. He has been employed by the Centerville school district since 2004. Jermaine’s wife, Janelle Bailey, also teaches Preschool at Primary Village South. They live in Centerville and have two daughters, Kyndal and Korinne (Kori).

Mark Brown

Kickers / Punters

Coach Brown is a graduate of Archbishop Alter High School and attended Purdue University where he played defensive back and kicker.  He is in his second year coaching the kickers at Centerville High School.  Prior to Centerville Coach Brown was at Springboro High School for 11 years as well as many years coaching youth and Junior High football, as well as high school track.  Mark currently  works as a Senior Project Manager for a Cincinnati construction company.  Mark is married to his wife of 27 years Jill and has 6 children – Kyle, Westin, Suzanne, Griffin, Owen and Finn.
